New Moon at 20 degrees of Scorpio: The Eye in the Storm of Your Belly

The Moon darkens tonight at 20 degrees of Scorpio marking the beginning of a new lunation cycle. Scorpio symbolises an evolutionary force which seeks to initiate us into a process that strips back a thing to reveal the nature of its essentiality. The experience of depth and substance, the navigation of the inner void, the need to see through oneself into the heart of one’s reality. I feel probing eyes investigating us through the thick air, holding the land's cries, keeping the tears of the ancestors from seeping and drowning us all. The subterranean waters of Scorpio are flooding right now, those unclassified, non-linear, pre-vocal surges of emotions that catalyse all our movements towards the necessity of change are . The pain of repetition lingers and we watch the spirals of emotional intensity that connect us through time. The soul brings us to a difficult underground place to ENLARGE us, to ask more of us than what we planned on giving- Scorpio asks for us to attend to our accumulated wounds, to go to the places that would take us out for some days, to engage with the desire to not forego the pain of the world speaking now.

To see the uncovering solemnly, and not look away from that which found a voice to speak from. The world did not fester up overnight, we are grappling with hundreds of years of violation, injustice, displacement, destruction within our own world. Scorpio speaks of the need to allocate time to wade in the stagnant pools in one’s emotional body- biding time in the seething waters we hold in the dark as to attend to the knots that hold our power. Scorpio energy can reveal to us where we cower from the demands of our emotional integrity, showing us where we fall short of being true to our word. To the promise we made to ourselves.

Scorpio teaches the confrontation of our base instincts delaying gratification and giving substance to desire through an act of focalisation on a more spiritualised animated desire. It takes doing the hard thing. And sometimes there really isn’t another way. Steadfastness reveals. Our strength and its ingenuity to persevere in ways beyond mere survival are being called on, we are asked to take on a position that supports and bolsters up life amidst the demolition of old worlds who dig their nails into us as they go down. The approaching of the physical dark, the revelation of all suffering gone in silence, the electrifying need for liberation for all. The land cries with its dead children on its back. The veil is pulled back, we feel all the newly departed exits of this world watching wondering how the seeds of regeneration will be sown? In whose hearts will the memory of life-supporting stay alive. All the work must be acknowledged. All the work must begin. All the work is shared and intertwined. All the work must be taken on by all of us. More than ever we can see into the hidden workings behind how power is wielded on our planet. We also feel the spectrum of our personal agency, the isolatory feeling of helplessness and the power of community alignment along undeniable ethical and emotional values that support LIFE. The death drive in our society must be harnessed towards dismantling our own personal barriers towards being able to bear witness to our collective disruption and use our wills towards protecting what we deem testament to our humanity. The Moon conjuncts Mars describing the need to choose what one will represent in this world. Uranus is opposing the Moon bringing us the test of how we birth authenticity and unshackled ways of being. Where we refuse to conform to the conditions of this world.
