Full Moon and Partial Lunar Eclipse in Pisces: We Leak into Each Other and Never Forget

depicts how it feels to be a Pisces Moon walking around God's green earth.

After an astrologically intense summer, we find ourselves in the midst of eclipse season. The Full Moon and partial Lunar Eclipse at 25 degrees of Pisces will take place on the 18th September at 3:45 am Cyprus time. It is the opening to a series of eclipses along the Virgo/Pisces axis that will continue into 2026 and 2027. We will be revisiting the Aries/ Libra axis which will bring revisitations of the tension between self-propulsion and connection. Having experienced a year of watching genocide from our screens, some of us feel the urgency of our interconnectivity and our collective right to autonomy. We have seen our freedoms become intertwined, stories spawned from the same fate. We have also seen how self-preservation abounds on a social level and have borne witness to the transgressions of human relationship. Some of us are glaring with intent at the situation while many cannot bear the weight of our interconnectivity and look away. It is interesting to reflect on how these themes have been developed within us in the last year- how do we wield personal responsibility within collective disasters and deconstructions. How do we express our sovereignty while remaining connected to the imbalances and injustices faced by many.

Dr. Olomi speaks of the 2020s setting up the stage for some important fights for human liberty, for resources and for public health, but suggests the real events and mass upheavals will come closer to the 2030s. The times are shifting and if you aren't listening, there is a crescendo coming. We cannot ostrich our way out of this, we have, as souls, agreed to be present amidst the decay and rotting bodies of this world. The rupture that will hopefully, in the long run,  be a type of course-correction in human history. Eclipses are like time worm-holes bringing revisitations of moments in time that have marked us, they crack open long-held or suppressed truths and louden our internal worlds so that we can acknowledge the parts of our process that we may have kept at the fringes of our awareness. You can reflect back on the last months of 2016, in relation to echoes with this eclipse. Being a North Node eclipse, it is expected that we experience restlessness and an emotional hunger that drives us during the catalysing of our eclipse stories.

In Pisces, we meet our own personal quest towards an ideal. It is the subtle emotional body where dreaming happens, the porous waters of our greatest desires and their fluctuations as they make their way into form. In Pisces, emotional intensity is not experienced as the rolling boil of Scorpio but as a swinging pendulum of ecstasies and agonies. It signifies the endless, the slippery, the stirrings of the heart we want to follow and the vicissitudes of that imaginal quest as it comes against the backdrop of material reality. We find out how we resource ourselves in the imagining of our desires, and how well or ill equipped we find ourselves at their material creation. Emotions arising at this time may point to places where we have a tight grip and resist surrendering into faith or to narratives of victimhood that have kept us bound to a certain reality. An excessive Piscean charge can lead to disorientation. We can romance ourselves into life and also out of it. We can follow a passion in all earnest, only to reach a point in the road and find it can no longer stand, without the emotional gnosis of, however, we would never have been able to know.

The nature of the Piscean world of feeling is the very thing that allows our soul to be uplifted by things not bound to the world of matter, to name things we want to be devoted to and to be subsumed by the reality of love and ability within us. However,  the same drive may be the very thing that facilitates a check-out from our emotional realities and things that we need to bear and physically contend with, the thing that shields us from the unspeakables of our soul.

Our emotional whirlpools can portal us into the bliss of a fleshed out dream or a long winding misdirection. The discretion is ours.  The 25th degree of Pisces belongs to Mars lending an active, forceful and bold tone to the Piscean waters of this eclipse. They call towards tumultuous journeys that test the dreaming capacity against a developing emotional resilience. The desires and passions that arise can feel torturously trapped in the ether with our internal worlds raging around trying to find a way to give them body. Then, there is also the porous reality of Pisces energy, we will be reminded how we leak into the w orld and how our world leaks into us. It is likely that this eclipse can bring moments of internal emotional crisis that pierce through a surface level of wellness. The indiscernibility being the way of the process towards understanding what is genuinely emotionally true. Our connection to the world must remain deep and honest even as cataclysms of our own dreams, realised, redirected or resuscitated struggle to physically manifest. During this eclipse, we are likely to encounter moments with emotional history, situations that have spiralled and jaywalked out of time now back and requiring our reconsideration and agency.

For me the substance of Pisces and what we are working towards refining, is the timeless nature of love for something or emotions shared between people and the world that transcend the moment. It is that which remains in the air through generations, it is that which is recalled and remembered through the fog of distance. That sweet true emotion that was once exchanged with something that although transient and no longer the focus, never finds itself  lost. It is the fuel that guards against apathy, against hardening and indifference. It is the reason we remain emotionally open to the world for it is those transient moments that lift our souls up in a type of redemption, even if only momentarily. This is why we have lifelong memories of an insignificant moment that had the capacity to emotionally move us.  Maria Popova encapsulates this in her poem “Spell Against indifference” when she says:

The rain falls and falls
cool, bottomless, and prehistoric
falls like night —
not an ablution
not a baptism
just a small reason
to remember
all we know of Heaven
to remember
we are still here
with our love songs and our wars,
our space telescopes and our table tennis.

Here too in the wet grass
half a shell
of a robin’s egg
shimmers
blue as a newborn star
fragile as a world.

Fragile and timeless as this world. The invisible things that persist through time, our invisible connections to that which we allow to touch us in this world, even if it discintegrates materially into the next and the next. This eclipse is square Jupiter in Gemini bringing up potential broken oaths to ourselves and others as we do the daily work of keeping on. It can highlight all the ways in which we misadventured into idealism or abandoned our faith in things altogether  and the work that needs to be done in order to remedy our personal states of emotional health and honesty. It provides a check in towards our state of hope or even good faith in our worlds, after the wreckage. How do we keep moving in this tragic world without becoming the tragedy?
